Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment
Our signature whole-body oral health evaluation.
Most dental visits look at your teeth. Ours looks at you. The Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment is a full-picture evaluation that connects your mouth to your whole body, examining everything from gum health and bite mechanics to airway function, sleep quality, and nutritional patterns. It is the starting point for every person at Vats & Param, and the foundation of all the care that follows.
“A thorough assessment is not a formality, it is the difference between treating symptoms and resolving the root cause.”
What Does It Involve?
Unlike a standard dental check-up, our Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment is a structured, multi-dimensional evaluation. It combines clinical examination, digital imaging, functional analysis, and systemic health screening into a single, cohesive consultation. The findings are used to build a personalised, evidence-based plan instead of a generic treatment list.
Every assessment is conducted by one of our senior clinicians and takes the time it needs. We do not rush diagnoses. We document everything, explain our findings clearly, and give you the full picture before recommending anything.
12 Areas of Evaluation
Comprehensive Dental Examination
A thorough clinical review of all teeth, soft tissues, and oral structures to identify existing conditions and areas of concern.
Digital Radiography
High-resolution digital X-rays that reveal bone levels, hidden decay, and structural issues, with significantly reduced radiation exposure.
Intraoral Photography
Detailed photographic documentation of your oral cavity for precise monitoring, education, and treatment planning.
Oral Cancer Screening
Systematic examination of all oral soft tissues for suspicious lesions, discolouration, or abnormal changes requiring further evaluation.
Gum Health Assessment
Periodontal charting to measure pocket depths, bone levels, and inflammation markers connected to systemic conditions.
Bite Analysis
Assessment of how your upper and lower teeth meet, identifying imbalances that can cause wear, pain, or jaw problems over time.
TMJ Assessment
Evaluation of jaw joint sounds, movement, and muscle tenderness to identify temporomandibular disorder risk.
Airway Assessment
Screening for signs of airway restriction, mouth breathing, and sleep-related breathing conditions with referral pathways.
Sleep Screening
A focused questionnaire and clinical review to identify signs of obstructive sleep apnoea and poor sleep quality.
Nutrition Assessment
Dietary history review to identify acid erosion risk, nutrient deficiencies, and their impact on oral and systemic health.
Risk Assessment & Prevention Planning
A personalised risk score across caries, periodontal disease, wear, and cancer that shapes your long-term care plan.
Second Opinions
Clear, unbiased review of previous diagnoses or treatment plans with a full written summary of our findings.
Three Principles Behind Every Assessment
Root-Cause First
We do not treat what we can see in isolation. We investigate why it is there, because addressing the cause prevents recurrence.
Whole-Body Awareness
The mouth does not exist apart from the rest of you. Our assessment connects oral findings to systemic health patterns you may not have considered.
No Unnecessary Treatment
An assessment is not a sales exercise. We recommend only what is clinically indicated, and we explain every recommendation in full.
The Doctors Behind Your Assessment
Your assessment is led by our senior clinicians, Dr. Srivats and Dr. Param, who bring over 50 years of combined experience in diagnostic and whole-body dentistry. Every finding is reviewed and explained personally; we do not delegate your understanding to anyone else.
